i have a male white lip tree frog and i noticed a small lump on his head. its progress to get alot larger?? any ideas what it could be??
Is there a lump on the other side matching it? If not then I think you need to have the frog checked out by a vet.

no there is not a matching lump anywhere on his body...i looked at him closely and there doesnt look like a a cricket bite or meal worm bite.. it just appeared one day and progressively gotten bigger.... i never saw anything like it before
White lip frogs are more fragile then the whites. Is your frog wc. Most white lipped are. They have parasite and diseases. John is right with this one I'm afraid. Good luck hope its nothing.
i hope it goes down.. it has not gotten any bigger. he acts fine normal self
sorry it took so long for the reply..Comets lump went down as fast as it appeared. never seen anything like before and he looks back like his normal handsome self
I have a book that is kind of old that mentions a disease very similar to what your frog was suffering from. The disease is called Dropsy. It describes symtoms as a abnormal accumulation of serous bodily fluids. Possibly caused by bacteria/but more so improper body metabolism. Caused by inadequate diet or poor climate maintenance. Bloating or soft dermal abnormalities. Usually around the abdominal region, but can form in other sensitive areas like near the eyes. Vet is best. Treatment suggests to sterilize a needle and puncture the spot to drain the fluid. Definetly go to a vet. Sounds to risky. That is if it reoccurs and doesn't get better.
the only thing i can think of is that we just took him out of the rain chamber. he was in there trying to breed for 2 weeks.. unsuccessful and then the lump formed. if it occurs i will take futher action.. untill then he is quite content
