I've been thinking about what kind on container I should keep my nightcrawlers in, that would not only be clean, but not take up a ton of space...
Here's my idea, please tell me any problems you think I may have with it, or ways I could improve it!
1. Take a dresser, the one I am using has 5 drawers that are 18" wide, 20" long and 6" deep.
2. Get some vapor barrier, cut it to the shape of the drawer inside, and staple it in them to prevent the moist soil from rotting the wood.
3. Fill the bottom of drawer with a layer of sand (about 2" high this will be a natural water retainer) then add soil on top of that to fill the drawer. Add worms!
There is one thing I'm concerned about though... ventilation, not sure how much air flow I'm going to need for nightcrawlers and wax worms (one of the drawers will contain oatmeal & waxworms) I was thinking about drilling a hole in the back of the dresser where each drawer is, will that provide enough air?
I'm not worried about drilling/putting soil in the dresser, it is an OLD heavy duty one from the 50s so it's BUILT!
Anyway, thanks for looking and any input you can provide,

Just don't store your underwear in there. Worms love underwear!
