Default Eating too much Eco Earth?

I have been feeding my pacman nightcrawlers for a few weeks now. I dangle the worm in front of him with forceps and he will strike the worm pulling it from my grasp in the process. The worm gets covered in eco earth while he proceeds to slurp it up. Should I be concerned about him ingesting the eco earth. Is there a better way to feed him nightcrawlers, i dont want to stress him out by taking him out every time I feed him. I think that the eco earth is supposed to be digestible I am just concerned that he may be having too much.

Coco fibre is digestable, not sure how much would be too much though. Maybe feed him when he sits in his water bowl to avoid it getting stuck to his food?
