Default Hi, I joined to find out more about dumpy tree frogs.

When my daughter was ten, I told her that she could have one when she was twelve. That time is fast approaching. I am here to find out as much as I can. She will have to research on her own and write a proposal before she gets her own but I want to be educated too.

Bah, that's what my parents always made me do! But it got me into the habit of researching things before I do them, which is good (just don't tell my parents! Haha!). Unfortunately, alot of people buy animals on an impulse and then are unprepared to take care of them. Anyway, Welcome to the Forum and the wonderful world of frog-keeping!

Hi McFrog, that's good that you and your daughter are taking the right steps in learning about what you are going to be caring for (Whites Tree Frog). I agree with Grif, a ton of people buy frogs out of an impulse on a good deal or it just looks cool. Any responsible pet owner knows it's always right to research and have everything set up before you take in one of these guys.

You should know with these guys that they're nocturnal, is your daughter fine with knowing that they won't be active during the day?

Here's the care sheet written by Kurt (He's very experienced with Tree Frogs) on Whites Tree Frogs:

Frog Forum - White's Tree Frog Care - Litoria caerulea

Thoroughly read through that a few times with your daughter, you should be good to go .

    Good choice!
White's are one of my favorites.

    I agree with sublime.
