Those of you who saw my previous thread will have seen the spawn my E tricolor laid, well the up date is that it turned out to be duff. However I had only had them a matter of weeks and they were 2011 young so I wasn't really expecting anything . Needless to say I'm now on my third batch of of spawn and in the process of raising tadpoles . The second batch contained 14 eggs ,13 hatched the third batch was a lot smaller and a week later they hatched though this time only 6 tadpoles. I had set them up in a 18x18x18 exo-terra as a temp measure but they like it so much I have left them in it. We added more plants and they use every inch of the viv. On a different note I remove the eggs on the leaf once I see them wriggling as the tank is so heavily planted I would loose them, at present I'm feeding using fish food and flaked brine shrimp to feed them on.![]()

With my E. Anthonyi I simply leave a shallow water dish at the bottom of the tank and the male will transport them to the dish when they are ready. Its also really cool to watch. Make sure you are supplementing the parents to ensure healthy tads. I also supplement with Superpig to make sure they color up as adults.
