Hey guys! Just got my first Pacman (about 2wks ago)! He/she was a little smaller than a half dollar when I got it. It has almost doubled in this week and half! I bought it from this petstore that is very strict about hiring ONLY idiots! lol.... I could have told them it was a squirred, not a frog, and they would have believed it. I got the frog, and they wanted to put it in a card-board "mouse box" for me to take it home in. So I had to by a little critter cage for the transport. Then she was going to use tongs to get it out of their mini tupper-wear, so I got it out, along with most of the moss in their tank (just to keep moist untill I got home. But now he/she is in a temporary setup until I get my other tank project done. No more moss!
Im think its Ornate, not sure tho? This is the day I got it, Ill post more pics when he grows a little more, and in his new home.

Hello db. Welcome aboard. Love to hear rescue missions like yours. One more frog less in harms way into carering hands. Good for you.
Welcome db. What a cute little baby you've got there. Thank you for rescuing him from that scary place. I rescued mine from a pet shop also. They wanted to send my baby home with me in a fish bag! Ugh! Can't wait to see more pictures to come

Nice Squirrel Dirty Bird!
It looks like a cranwelli, a nice one at that too... from what I can see.
what pet store is it from??
I didn't know squirrels come in green. I know they come in brown, black, white, gray, and red. But never in green.![]()
Lol thanks guys! Yea its a new species of 'green ground squirrel'.... Very rare! Lol
I got it from a store in the mall.... So i dont get sued, lets call it Cet Pity. Sad place.
Hi!!
Nice C. cranwelli there! Good job on the rescue!
Can't wait to see more pics!
Is that a chain store out west.lol
WOW! FINALY! A pet store that hires people that are more dumb than those at Petsmart. I can see why thereis a lack in popularity. Welcome to the forum. Nice ceratophrys squirrelli.
Very nice looking pac.
Only thing I would do is get rid of the moss, have heard of frogs getting impaction from them.
Thanks.... Yea, like I said, the moss is what he was in, and i just used it to keep him moist till i got home. The rubber-maid (temporary) he is in nowis just eco earth, and a water dish, and a fake vine for his security
OK good now you rescued him. What do you have him in. Can we see some pics of his new home. All you need is a small place for now. with coco fiber and a small water bowl for him to soak in. If you have any questions about food, vitamins,temps/humidity. Please let us know. pics would help. BTW the care sheet here is a must.
Great looking C.cranwelli! I love the bright green! When I got mine, I almost thought it was a blue phase because it was so bright green. Yours looks very similar!
Sounds like you are taking great care of the little guy. If you have any questions, like said before, don't be afraid to throw them at us!![]()
OK, so here he is. Im assuming "he" cause someone on here said the males have brownish black dots on the belly, and he does. Still a baby! Enjoying a worm.
This is his new home. It a 20L. I know its a little big for him right now, so I have it FLOODED with live plants and a couple fake ones, to break it up a bit. It also has a background on it now too, on the back and right side.![]()
On a side note.... He has been burrowed for days.... actually more like a couple weeks. Fully submerged and wont eat. Every couple days I will dig him out and try to feed him. Sometimes he'll eat a butter worm or two, some days nothing. Ive tried everything from earthworms, wax worms, butter worms, to crickets and fruit flys. I read they should eat every day when they a juveniles, but I also read not to disturb them too much if they are burrowed. The tank stays around 80F and humidity is around 65-70. I keep the soil moist, and he has a water bowl, but only used it once in the 3 or 4 weeks ive had him. Im concerned about him not eating. Any thoughts
I think the tank might be too big for him, what size is he ? I think a 5 or 10 gallon tank would do since it's small and it can catch its food easier
Well. I am kinda strapped for cash, and I had the 20 on hand. I just put him in there 2 days ago. He has been buried a couple weeks. He not interested in any food. He hasn't moved so he does not know how big it is, and there is only a 8in MAX line-of-sight anywhere in the tank.
Believe me he senses the open space. The light is to bright and . For now a plastic shoe box will do drill some holes in the sides. Add some coco fiber and a water dish. He will be happier there. You must keep it at 80/65. Get him in a smaller container with right temp/humidty. No lights.
