Got my shipment of 3 red eyes and 2 clown tree frogs from Michael Novy today. They came in a large box with a heat pack and plenty of insulation. This is my first time buying from him and I am very pleased with the quality of the animals. They all appear to be healthy, vibrant and active. I suppose this is why you should only go with captive bred from a reputable breeder. Mike is also a very pleasant guy to deal with in general. He's always ready to answer questions and never pushy when it comes to making a sale.
I opened the lids and placed the containers in the frogs' respective tanks to let them climb out on their own. Soon after, they all set out to find resting spots in their new homes.
I have the 3 red eyes in a 20 gallon vertical and the 2 clowns in a 12 x 12 x 18 zoo med. They should be sufficient for now as they're all juveniles (red eyes about 1.5", clowns about 3/4"); may upgrade to larger enclosures when they reach adulthood. I think the feeling I'm having right now can rightfully be described as giddiness.

Great frogs. Michael is a super nice guy, very helpful, and he breeds great frogs like no one else.

very nice! mike is a really cool guy to deal with. he knows his stuff too. good luck with them!
Clowns are the best! Best of luck with em. A word of advise: IME they prefer smaller prey items than you might think for their size. Just a thought.
Good Luck!

WOW nice looking frogs I've never seen Clown tree frogs that colour. Please could we have some close ups of them all? Thanks
I'm working on it. Trouble is, the clowns are such great hiders it's tough to even find one in the daytime. Both species are strictly nocturnal, so when they do come out of hiding, the lights are off and I've only managed fuzzy looking shots so far. Will keep trying though.
