I have 5 camera batteries. 2 are always in my battery grip and the remaining three I rotate.

Good method!

When I photograph moose or wolves in the winter out of my blind (it's actually like a tree house, karosene heat & all ), I normally carry between 8-10 fully charged battery pack & a interstate deep cycle battery to re-charge them, as I am up there sometimes for days on end.
