Could be his temperature isn't high enough for him to be able to digest his food properly. Make sure the temperature is accordingly 80-85F with a few drop of degrees at night. Do you have a water dish in the enclosure if he prefers to relieve himself in there? Try keeping him on a softer diet of just night crawlers for now and watch him. You could also soak him in a warm water bath for 10-15 minutes, this usually helps peoples frogs poop. Make sure his food isn't staying in his stomach to long and decaying. Could bloat and die from this. Keep an eye on him and spot clean the cage when he move for signs of poop in the dirt.
