    Default light fixture?

is a light fixture necessary for a Pacman? what i mean is, does a pacman frog need a UVB set up ? i have never used any sort of uvb bulb with one before. and if so, what is the BEST bulb to get for a pacman if needed? is UVA only used for temperature and day/night lighting? so what do you all use for this if you even use a light? my room is warm year round and i am not concerned about temps.

No, most if not all frogs do not need UV light. Most reptiles however, need UV (Specifically UVB, naturally basking under the sun) lighting. An incandescent bulb is perfect for one depending on the size of your tank is what you would be looking for wattage. Minor traces of UVA light is emitted from incandescent bulbs, sometimes manufactures will coat the outside with a phosphor or neodymium coat to block out most of the UV light. Yes the incandescent bulbs are used for temperature and day or night lighting depending on if you're buying an infrared also for night. I think there's been a few studies that UV light is harmful to amphibians and can cause illness from radiation exposure. Since they don't get vitamin d3 from UVB because they're not exposed to it and absorb it, then you'll need to supplement with vitamin d3 to help absorb the calcium you are supplementing in with his diet. If your room is fine at day and night, natural daylight coming in and non obtrusive lighting at night, then your pacman is fine and you don't need to worry about lighting.
