hi kurt. thanks for the reply, do you think that the largest size faunarium plasic tank would be a big enough home for two of the toads and do i need a heat mat?

Tom has given you the answers about toad size. Now the question remains is how big is this faunarium? I suspect that we may know it as a critter keeper, but I can't be certain.

I doubt it would be ok with the biggest critter keeper though. Wait how big do they get (critter keepers)?

hi, thank you all for your replies, yes i think it is what you call a kritter keeper, its made by zoo med and the measurements are 18 x 12 x 6.5 inches. i have tried to find information from my local petshops but they dont seem to know. i have also been ill advised about keeping my whites tree frogs so i hope im doing it right.

it is also called Duttaphrynus melanostictus I think and from what I can figure out the females get to about 4.5 inches and what it this plastic faunarium that you are talking about? Sorry if it is a Europe thing I am on the other side of the pond. They supposedly also require a fairly high humidity (I looked them up on google and this is what I have figured out).

Hows your Whites colouring? You could ring the pet shop where you got him and they may know a good Vet.

hey ebony, i just the frog on the floor of his tank and threw some crickets in and i just seen him eat two, so thats made me a bit happier, maybe i will always have to put him in the ground as he struggles with climbing up but one his there he finds it hard to get back down lol.

the pet shop had him on hoppers so maybe i should get him some of those to.

the frog is a light greeny colour like most wtfs, but when hes on the floor he goes brown. this might be because of the browny coloured forest bark in using as substrate, the only problem with this substrate is that the crickets all go and hide in it. is there anything else i could use?

YAH...That's great he's eating. That's a good sign. Maybe you could arrange his house so its a little easier for him to climb. He may have been stressed with where he was, and then with the move. Keep a close watch on him. When you can I would love to see some photo's.

What do you mean by hoppers? Are we talking hopper mice? If so, do not use them. Continued feeding of rodents to frogs can lead to the frog's death.

I am also wondering if the frog has a calcium defiency. Treefrogs will often avoid climbing when they are lacking in calcium/vitamin D3.
