Hey everyone,
I have a green tree frog and a kassina senegelensis at the moment and I'm trying to find the right plants to put in their tanks. I know you can use bromeliads but do they have to be certain ones? I've just bought a bromeliad vriesea, would that be suitable for them because the flower section oozes a sort of sticky water like substance and I just want to be sure that its not toxic.
Cheers.
My bromeliad knowledge is very limited, but I've never seen or heard anything about dangerous bromeliad. I hope someone else can confirm the non-dangerousness of the bromeliads for you!
If you want some advice on other plants to use, here's a quote from another thread. You can find tons of threads on the plant topic if you do a quick search.
Photos - They grow like crazy, sometimes a few centimeters a day. They are almost impossible to kill, thrive in frog terrariums and provide excellent climbing space.
Bromeliads: Air plants, so they do not need to be planted in the soil, but can be placed in the background or anywhere.
Snake plants: Extremly sturdy plants that provide excellent sleeping plants.
Creeping fig: Grows alot and provide alot of climbing space.
Ficus: Some have alot of small plants, other have fewer really big sturdy plants.
Hi thanks for the info, I'll have to do some more investigating.![]()
