i just recently at walmart bought a clearance backyard safari outfitters for dry and wet and wanted to give it a shot to grow a tadpole to a frog and seeing this pacman frog is so cutee does it get huge because this safari kit looks small and i can only take care of one in the kit. any suggestions on which tadpole i should start out with with this kit?
Can we see a pic of this safari kit. I never ran into one. Then we can see what frog you can put in.
I would say yes. They don't bother the frogs at all. Except like most lights there is a drying effect especially with those meant mainly for heat, but a 25 watt would be good. If you need more heat get a 40 or 50 watt just buy a lamp with the dimmer switch so you can set the heat and brightness where the frog needs it. Mist a little more often.

I think its about 12.5"L x 8"H X 6.5"W
Can you add a filter to this kit . Does it come with a kit. Its very cute. Lets see if its practical. We don't want to hurt your tadpole. You will need a water heater. The problem with this is that its plastic. And i don't know if its safe to add a water heater. Can you return it and get a 5 gal glass tank .Add some slate rocks. Add a water heater, and a sponge filter and you're set. Don't loose the receipt.
for any tadpole i would need a water heater? also with my budget and all i didn't want to spend much on the home so i thought it would be okay because i got it on sale and saw that i can take care of a tadpole i wanted to give it a shot and didn't think they needed a water heater
Lets see if i can help you here. How much did you pay for this . Lets see if we can return it .Craigslist has cheap tanks and filters. take a look and see if you can find something. Take your time cause you don't want to have problems later.
well i just don't want to spend a lot of money and yea i don't want any troubles with the frog later after the tadpole stage.
what about if i get a tadpole that isn't tropical will i still need a water heater
You need to go to the General Discussion area with this question. Pacman frogs are TROPICAL frogs from the family Ceratophrys. You are osting in the Pacman frog part of the forum. Though someone here will own multiple frogs from all kinds of families and species if you post here we are going to assume you are asking about a Pacman frog. Try the General discussion area.
okay sorry about that and thanks for the help
