I still cant figure out the sex. Am I missing something? It is surely too hard to tell from these pics. He/She has been living in this tank for over 2 years. I am not sure of exact age. Was a really small baby when I purchased from the local pet store. Haven't named it cous i dont know what sex it is lol.

I am leaning towards male...but could you get a bigger picture of his behind? an overhead picture would be easiest. Try putting the frog in a tupperware container with some water to make the picture taking easier

Thanks! Yea im leaning towards getting natural sand instead. I am not sure how much it will stress him to change all the water at once though :/

I think it's a male too. The body is elongated while the female is more pear shaped. Also the cloaca is not swollen. Since it is sexually mature, check on the underside of the fingers - a male will have darker "nuptial pads".

I suggest live plants - Java fern (my favourite aquarium plant) grows well even in low light

hmm now I am not sure....
Picture three shows no nuptial pads and I cannot tell if it is the angle of the picture of picture 1 but it almost looks like there is a tiny cloaca.... can you try another shot of the rear end where the back end is fully in view and not at an angle?
