Default Update on Baby Green Cranwelli.

My little rescue Cranwelli is doing well. He/she gets up early everyday though. He/she will get up around 6 pm and stare at me and my fiance. Its really funny. I moved him/her into my Zoo Med 12x12x18 terrarium where I had my cultured crickets. This may seem large for a young Pacman which it is. He/she seems to feel right at home. Nice moist coco fiber/shallow water dish/80 degrees/70% to80% humidity. I'm going to buy some fake plants for shade and to add extra comfort for the little guy/girl. His/her personality differs greatly from Grif. I love it.

In my experience it depends on how badly you rip off their legs, but usually they can make it awhile. Afew hours or so, maybe more, but Malcolm never had much of a problem finding those until near his end. How long are you planning on "storing" the injured crickets?

haven't tried this method yet my pacman either is a real picky eater or he just can't catch the crickets so in about 3 hours (its 5pm right now) Im going to pick a poor little cricket chop of one of its hinds and put it in front of him see if that helps... he usually just stares at them, they'll jump onto of him run across him...basically so many chances for him to catch it but he won't budge

Yes you can save them for later. Cricket legs are designed to break off. Its an escape technique like snakes and lizards do with their tails. They can survive without their hind legs because they also grow back like the tails of snakes and lizards. If they die its probably because they other crickets attack it.

You don't have to cut them off. If you squeeze the leg near the base on the thick part that's the thigh. It will pop off without cutting.
