How would one use Melafix on frogs, toads, and newts? I have a firebelly with an eye issue and have been told to use Melafix- I just wasn't told how to use it! From other posts it seems that the Melafix is applied directly to the animal, not just used in the water. Would love any help with this from anyone with experience with this product.
In short, don't. Melafix is designed for fish when added to the tank water. Also it is an antibacterial remedy, so unless you know for certain there is a bacterial infection, the irritation resulting from use of Melafix can make the "issue" worse.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!
I use melafix for my cichlids wounds. Its a natural product. The problem with this its too strong to use for frogs. It might burn. In the fish tank it gets diluted and the smell is still strong, and the water foams up. NOT A GOOD IDEA. i USE MELAMINE BLUE. That also burns in the eye only for wounds away from the eyes only.
I think you mean methylene blue George, not melamine.
