    Default I want a Pacman!!

I have wanted a Pacman frog for a while now, decided to buy one shortly, but need some help please.

I understand there is one of these frogs that is harder to keep than others, is this right, if so, which one is it??
I am thinking i will get a green one, (Ceratophrys cranwelli) will this be ok for a complete bigginer, i did keep 2 european green toads, but some time ago.
I have found a place to get it from, they are tiny, about 2cm, just under 1 inch long, seems very small but will this be good??
My tank is 20inches X 12 X 12, is this size ok as a starter tank??

    Thanks for any help.

Everything I've read says they're easy to care for. They can tolerate relatively wide ranges of temperature and humidity. The only thing is they do bite and you should only handle them when absolutely necessary.
That's how big they are when they're young. It'll get considerably bigger.

First of all welcome to the forum if you're a first time user. A Pacman that small isn't usually a recommended buy for a beginner. If you're going to buy a baby Pacman buy one that is the size of a half dollar or just a bit smaller but larger than a quarter. It isn't impossible for a beginner to successfully raise a baby Pac that small to an adult though. A baby that small will need a smaller enclosure than the tank you have until the frog becomes larger. House it in a small critter keeper or a 5 gallon tank until it out grows the enclosure. There is a care article for Pacmans on this forum that will provide good info for you. Any in depth questions you need answering don't hessitate to post the question and someone on here will gladly be of help to you.

I would really recommend a small Kritter Keeper until it grows some. Your main issue for that size froglet will be food. I will suggest very small crickets if you are determined to do the crickets, but a good alternative would be appropriate sized bits of either Red Wigglers or Night Crawlers. Offer food nightly, it may not eat every night, but offer just in case. It will grow fairly quickly.
Make sure that you use ONLY de-chlorinated water for it's enclosure!! Make sure the temps are 80 - 85 F with a humidity of at least 60% (higher is better). Please be sure that when you do need to handle it that your hands are clean with NO chemicals.....douse your hands with the de-chlorinated water too & then you can touch him. He WILL get larger and when he does, biting is almost a guarantee.......LOL. Gently scoop the frog up from behind to avoid a chomp.

I can't possibly place ALL the advice you're going to need in one post, bu I will try to answer what I can as often as possible. I'm sure everyone else with experience will be valuable sources of information & help too!!

    Good Luck!!

I agree with everybody here. They are all on the right path to a successful and healthy baby pacman. Also please try to get one or two in my case, from a good breeder, vendor or seller. You might end up with a weak animal that hasn't eaten and it will not show until you try to feed it. Good luck on your find, and remember. We love pics. Once again welcome to the addiction.lol Sorry i meant to say good luck to your new addition.lol

For us Brits I think that's roughly the size of a 10p or 50p.. Most pet stores will supply crickets but you might have to order worms. Hope you find a great frog!

Yea but If the bigger frog wasn't taken care of, you can still have issues . Size doesn't matter.lol Its husbandry that does.
