    I have had 1/4" lexan in mine w/ silicone on both sides. It has been place for over a year. ( holding up about 4" of water w/ 2 pumps and a heater)
    No problems, no leaks. MUST wait over 24 hours before adding the water and certainly before adding inhabitants.

    Adding plants? re-pot them and wait at least 2 weeks before adding into the enclosure so that any perlite ,vermiculite, insecticide and fertilizer is gone.
    I have always used cocoa husk for my plants. I'm new to the forum. I think I saw a plant safe list?
