Handling your Tree Frog

most articles say not to handle your frog very much... I have Gray tree frogs, Red eye tree frogs and Whites tree frogs. I like to pick them up each day for a min or two... the red eye likes to sleep in my hand... he tucks all of his appendages under him like when he is on al leaf and closes his eyes and lays there...

So how often should I handle my frogs... don't want to stress them out... should I hold one a day and that way have only handled each one once a week... or what is the rule of thumb... all seem to be eating, pooping ok...

I do wash my hands between guys in different tanks... I am usaly changing the water... or cleaning the tank each day when I play with them... but I wanted to know if that is to much handling?

I handle my frogs almost daily and have yet to see one die or become too stressed from handling. I believe they (tree frogs) are more calm with regular handling... even one of my American Green Tree Frogs is tame.

Hi ~ I also have 2 Gray tree frogs and they are handled at least several times a week, and so far we've had no issues. I let them climb the walls and hang out in a large potted floor plant...I think they look forward to it. It never seems that they are trying to escape ~ but I always keep a close eye on them. Have to watch out for the cat!

Same here with my White's Tree Frog. I let him climb around on me/stuff outside his cage for around 20 minutes per day. He looks so bored in his cage and I figure he'd enjoy the warmth of a human hand after having just eaten. (After having washed my hands in warm water of course)
