Default New member living in Amsterdam!

    Hello, everyone,
I am a Chinese student in University of Amsterdam. Although I don't have any frogs now, I will buy two ADFs tommorrow. In the past few days I asked some
questions about ADF on the forum and got very helpful advice, and have got ready tank, chlorine-free water and real waterplants. I am very happy to join in the excellent forum.

In China, I kept freshwater crayfish, shrimp, various tropical fishes, red crabs and two hermit crabs! However, as an international student living in studio in Amsterdam, I cannot keep various crayfish, fish and crabs as before, because they need very advanced equipments. So I choose to keep frogs.

    Welcome to the forum Teng!

Sounds like you lead a interesting life, please post photos as soon as you get the frogs!

Have you decided on a terrarium to keep them in? What size?

    Excited to see them!

In most parts of the Netherlands there's no need to make your tapwater chlorine-free, because the concentration is allready very low. I live in the south and the tapwater is just fine for our frogs, toads, newts and salamanders. I don't know if that goes for the water in Amsterdam as well, but maybe you can check. Would make things a lot easier.

Welcome to this forum and to the Netherlands of course!

I enjoy the life in Netherlands very much! I find that in NL, aquarium stores are always independent,; however, in China the situation is that dozens of little aquarium stores gather and constitute a big market. In China, horned frogs, tree frogs and albino african clawed frogs are very common and popular, but it is very difficult to find ADF and bullfrog (only in restaurant).
