Default Time to start my viv...

After many stressors in the last few weeks, I am excited to say I'll be back to my viv project within this next week .

I will post pictures along the way. This is my first experience with a live set-up so I hope my plants will do well.

As a refresher, does anyone have any good tips for keeping my plants alive? I do great with amphibians, it's the plants I worry about.

I will repost pictures of my plants and tank this coming week.

What is the best way to place my plants. I will be making a false bottom with pvc and eggcrate. Would you recommend keeping the plants in the pots or placing them in the substrate? I have been letting the plants use up any unknown fertilizer for about a month plus now. The garden center I purchased 90% of them from does not use fertilizer, so I will start with those. My two recently purchased plants are broms and from what I read I believe I can completely rinse the dirt away and attach to a branch or back wall. Is this correct.

I'd like to get it right the first time, so any assistance or extra tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!!!

The viv will be for my two RETF's.

    Thanks again! Heather

Oh, I thought of one more thing...is there any kind of safe "dirt" or fertilizer I can use? I know the frog feces will help, but seeing as there will be none to start off with, I just thought I'd ask.

55 gallon and will have a self contained waterfall to the right of the tank.
