Pacman's tongue hanging out???

So I've noticed over the past 24 hours or so that my pacman's tongue is hanging out of his mouth. It almost looks like he has a big piece of food in his mouth but it's his tongue. He's acting totally normal otherwise but I'm still concerned as I have no idea what's going on with him.

What was his last meal? What substrate is he kept on and is it possible he ingested some? Are you de-chlorinating his water? It's even possible he bit his own tongue and it's just swollen & sore.
A photograph would help us if you could post one.

Ok so after doing some research, I'm realizing that it could be a prolapsed stomach.... Now I'm really worried!!! Here's a pic.

his last meal was a calcium dusted superworm. He loves those and normally has no problem eating them. However, last night when I first noticed the tongue thing, I tried to feed him a superworm and he kept lunging at it and missing. After several misses he gave up. His substrate is eco-earth coconut fiber.

Time for a Vet!
At the very least, find a vet that may give you advice on how to help the frog re-position the stomach if that's the case.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A TIME TO GO TO THE VET. IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S BITING ON THE TONG AND ITS SWOLLEN IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS. LACK OF VITAMINS. SUPERWORMS ARE A HIGH RISK FOOD. WHO EVER IS FEEDING THEM TO PACMAN THEY ARE PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE. i WISH YOU THE BEST.

Alright so I've managed to push it back in. It's no longer hanging out of his mouth but he's super stressed out now. Hopefully he'll be ok now. I'm gonna keep a close eye on him. Is there anything in particular I should look out for?

I changed his substrate several weeks ago.

Soak him. Hopefully it'll help calm him down a little.

Just guessing but maybe it was trying to get the superworm out?

If he starts acting strangely I would definetly be taking him to the vet. I hope he'll be fine now once he calms down and no more issues occur. I woud change the substrate and soak him I some luke warm water as was suggested above.

This happened to my frog twice and he hasn't been the same since. He doesn't eat, I have to force feed him. Hopefully your frog will do better than mine

sorry to hear that. Do you have any idea why that happens.

Feeding superworms is possible if you crush the head first (with tweezers). I've never had any problems with them. I've also fed him Pachnoda marginata larvae, which have even stronger mandibles, the same way.

Is it possible that the super worm bit the frogs tougn and caused the swelling.

No, it happened the first time I fed him. He was going after crickets and I thought he caught one but it was his tongue. He has been looking better lately, the swelling has gone down some. He may have bit his tongue like some of you said, but it happened like four months ago.

I've been worried for you about Rupert. Has he started gaining weight since you've been force feeding him? You haven't posted much lately. Did you start force feeding every day?
