    Default Growing moss in soil

    Hey everyone
I'm currently building my tank and was wondering, when I silicone the soil to the foam if I mix broken up moss in with the soil would it grow in the soil? I don't want to have to buy any as I can't find any that isn't dried or dyed.
    Thanks Luke

I've not been too successful with growing moss myself, but from what I understand dead moss is dead moss. Now if it was still living then there might be a good chance it could have active spores that might grow into the background or the substrate, but it would also greatly depend on the type of moss. I've put spagnum and nw green moss into my backgrounds and its never grown for me.
Try searching for moss paste or moss mix for more info.

AWWWW everything that I could find takes weeks to start to grow. I think I might try putting live moss into the soil and also rubbing some mosses with cotton buds then rubbing that on the soil, I hope that will transfer spores to the soil.
