I bought two fire-bellied toads about four years ago and had them living in a 20 gal. aquarium. They got along pretty well and everything was fine until one suddenly became paralyzed from the waist down, stopped eating, and subsequently died. The other toad, Igor, didn't get sick and didn't seem to mind being alone terribly (he was the smaller of the two and usually lost out in chasing food or wrestling), so I never got another one. Igor was satisfied with hopping around and watching the cats, dogs, and various people that were always walking by or stopping to interact with him (he would attack any finger that someone put up against the glass, for instance). Now, however, I've moved to my own apartment and he doesn't get nearly the stimulation or company he used to.
tl; dr I'm thinking of getting another fire-bellied toad. Do you think the one I have will pitch a fit and attack a new toad, or should it not be a problem to put the two togther.
It shouldn't be a problem but I would quarantine the new one to make sure it's alright, before introducing it to Igor. Quarantine it for at least 2 weeks, preferably 4.
