White's tree frog stuck in bamboo

So... I think one of my White's tree frogs might be stupid. Or maybe I'm the stupid one to worry. Anyway, my frog has wedged himself into a bamboo stalk that is in his enclosure! He has been in there since I woke up this morning. I thought he would come out when I fed them tonight, but he is still in the bamboo. Could he be stuck? Or should I just assume that he will be able to get himself out of any corner he manages to wedge himself into?

I am sorry but I do not know. Maybe try to run water in one end (use the end that his head is not at.
I especially don't know what to to do if one side is blocked.

this sounds like a sticky situation. i figure he got himself in there he shure as hell can get out. my whites got stuck in this decor i got and i just let him be and he eventually came out (they are really stupid!)

I can see his head when I shine a flashlight down into the bamboo stalk. I tried running some water into the bamboo, but I felt like I was water-boarding him so I stopped that. Then I tried aiming the opening of the bamboo at hopping crickets to lure him out that way. Finally, I resorted to taunting him and calling him names but that didn't seem to work either...

I figure I will give him until tomorrow evening around feeding time. If he still hasn't ventured out from his hiding place, I'll get the saw out.

If not, just plop him down in front of the TV and make him watch the View for an hour or so. That frog will come out of the bamboo to look for the remote in a heart beat.

Well, he still wouldn't come out tonight. I brought the bamboo down to the basement where I keep the saw, but I just couldn't risk it. He was wedged right by where a seam in the bamboo was, so I would have to cut pretty close to his nose or rear. Instead, I filled the bamboo up with water right to where his eyes were and I swished it around in case his waxy skin was stuck to the bamboo walls. Then I tapped the edge of the bamboo against the counter until his nose and one arm were sticking out the front. When I put my finger against his hand, he grabbed on and I pulled him out! He looks a little reddish on his sides and is very dark in color, but is otherwise fine. I stuck a few crickets in for him, but he is more interested on sticking to the wall right now. Maybe he'll change his mind later.

I am NOT putting the bamboo back in his terrarium. Maybe my baby geckos can use it more responsibly.

Just to defend his intelligence: My White's tree frog is VERY curious and if he sees a nook or something he will almost always slide down into it to see how far it goes. I think it might be so that they can determine rather or not it is a good hiding place incase they spot a predator.

Still funny as heck though.

Ebony the View is a TV show in the U.S. And I hope he is ok. Have the red marks gone away yet?

Yes, the red marks were gone this morning and he is looking MUCH greener! I think he is just as glad to be out of the bamboo as I am that he is safe and healthy! I was starting to think I might need to stick crickets down the bamboo chute soon!
