Wooden climber for Whites tree Frogs.

I have some pieces of Java wood in my Whites Terrariums and I have to keep removing it every few days to clean the ends as they get damp in the substrate and then appear to go a little mouldy.

Am I using the wrong type of wood or is there something I can do to stop this happening?

There's nothing you can do about it I'm afraid. There are certain types of wood that will mold once and then the mold will never return. These woods include Mopani, Manzanita, Ghostwood, and Malaysian Driftwood. I've no idea what Java wood is (sounds made up).

Ive just googled Java wood and it comes from the wood of coffee trees. Its something to do with the way its made/carved.

I will have a look for some of those woods you have mentioned though, thanks.
