Now that Perry is settled with his feeding etc I would like to give him some friends.
I picked up a couple of smaller Whites a couple of weeks ago and have had them in quarenteen but Im wondering when I can put them in with Perry.
Perry is approx 1.5 inches and the little ones are approx 1 inch. I thought I would ask other Whites owners if they think the two little ones are too small to join Perry? Should I wait a bit longer, I dont want to put them at any risk of being eaten or anything.
Many thanks
Vicky
As long as they are bigger than his head they should be fine after quarintine. They cant eat things that are bigger than thier head. It is fun getting new friends. Just make sure they all find crickets. My little Frogger wouldnt let Stickers who is quite a bit bigger than him eat the crickets so I had to start taking Stickers out to feed him for awhile.
Basic rule of thumb is to introduce them after 30 days after you have them feeding/eating and see no signs of health issues.
I usually rearrange something so there is some physical change (Moving a rock or location of water dish, adding a new plant or branch) for the original inhabitant to pay attention instead of just the new frog.
1.0.0 Red Eyed Leaf/ Frog - Agalychnis callidryas
1.1.1 Bumblebee Dart Frog - Dendrobates leucomelas
1.1.0 Dendrobates truncatus - Yellow Striped
1.1.1 Dendrobates tinctorius – Bakhuis Mountain
1.1.0 - Dendrobates tinctorius - Powder Blue
1.1.0 - Ranitomeya vanzolinii
Thanks Mommyof4 and Don. Ive had them a couple of weeks so will wait a bit longer. They are feeding well so no problems there.
I have to do a big clean in a couple of weeks so will aim for then.
Thanks
Vicky
