Hey! Congrats on your new Pyxie. I have to say, temps play a big role in any frogs activity level. Humidity can also affect too, especially if it gets too dry. I always try to keep my temp at 26-28 degrees celcius (my frogs do really well at these temps) and their soil damp but not sopping wet. Last year, I let my frogs go into semi-hibernation, but only because I could not get their regular food source for a couple of months. I doubt if I will do it again and I have never done it before in the 4 years I have had an ABF. I don't think it is necessary unless you plan on breeding. My two do fine year round and go thru periods of inactivity and then super active. When they are buried, I usually uncover the face, and dangle a food item in front. If they are hungry, the leap out of the soil to get it. If not, they rebury their faces and I take the hint to try again another day! Best of luck!

Temperature , Humidity, and food are very important to a frog. If you have those in the right place ,then the frog will be happy ,and everybody is happy. if the first two are not right ,then the frog will not eat.
