Ok so basically I tossed in a few crickets in the container around 8pm, the frog was buried, 2 hours later I came by to check on it and saw that it was out but all the crickets were trapped in the water dish, I was just wondering if I should remove the water dish on the days that I feed it ?

I wouldn't remove it. I usually don't have that trouble with crickets dying in the water dish. You can remove it if you want though. Try again tonight.
