I haven't tried yet, I'll probably try at night, quick question during feeding should I dig it up then put in the crickets ? or should I just toss em in ?

Take one leg off the cricket so they are slow .sprinkle calcium and put in the tank.for now keep him in a small container.so he can be able to catch them..that's how I have mine ,they are doing great.

so basically during feeding time I should place the frog in a container and then try to feed it ? or should I try hand feeding it ?

no keep him in a container 8x8 for now with coco fiber and feed him in there. Just theory some crikets in there with him and let him be. Don't stress him out cause he won't eat.I'm not telling you what to do.but whY I'm telling you is don't stress him out. If you do ,livehim alone for a bit and go back later and feed.him.they are too young and skittish to be fed by tongs yet

oh ok, I have it in a 20 gallon long with an under tank heater on the right side, and water bowl in the middle, it dug itself towards the heater side, this setup i'm guessing is too big for it for now ?

so basically keep it in a small container of that size until it gets big enough for the tank ?

Exactly. It wont be too long. .This way he gets to get used to you faster. Once he gets to know you its easy after that . Make sure the temp is 79 and the humidity 65. in that container..

Buy a tempreture gauge and a humidity gauge. You can stick them to the inside back of the container. Preferably in the center of it.

He should be able to catch them in that container. Throw some in at night.. mine are doing great. They all are eating and poopin. My room temp is 77,and humidity is 60. I mist one side of area. That's great your temp is all year . Maybe if you put the container in the glass tank and heat the tank with a heating pad or a 25 watt bulb on top . The temp for him has to be 80,with 65% humidity. Get a temp/ humidity reader and put it in the tank so you know. My frog room is kept at 77-79/50-70%.
