That is hard! I have spring peeper froglets and they like to sleep on the rim of the tank sometimes. So I have to open the screen very carefully and I've had them jump out a couple of times. I'm always afraid of hurting them!

I had a horrible accident a couple months ago. I still haven't been able to talk about it, though maybe I will. I'm still guilt ridden about it. For now, I'll say I now have 4 Gray Tree Frogs instead of 5, I'm terrified every time I feed them, and they now have inadequate cover in the top of the tank. And I now hate the mesh lids that fit over the rim. I was always so careful about knowing where each frog was when the came off or on, but they're sometimes so fast you don't see them move. I can't get their new tank finished fast enough.
I know that feeling of horror, and I'm glad all your frogs are present and accounted for.![]()
About three weeks ago I accidently squished my male Varadero in the upper hinge of an Exo Terra door. I haven't seen him since.I felt so terrible.
I'm so sorry to hear that you guys have experienced the same sadness. Tonight they are all hiding more than usual, so I'll feel better when I can count them all again at the same time and see that they are all still doing okay. I only see 4 for now, so I'm still stressing out about the little one I may have smushed.
