My birthday has come early! My girlfriend bought me two White's tree frogs today.

They are babies, only about 2-3cm long, but eat like pigs! They've each already eaten about 6 crickets!

Tomorrow I'm going to finish building the viv for them, I'm using an old two foot tank up-ended onto it's short side, if you get what I mean, I have to build the door in tomorrow (netting with a wood frame) I have them in a mini viv at the moment until the other is finished.

I just need to think of names for them, it's difficult when you don't know if they're male or female!

Any ideas?

Hooray! Congrats!! Oooh, names..... I let my 10yr daughter old name mine. So they're Herbie and Pip
I wanted to call one of mine Albert. Can see why my daughter didn't let me.... Herbie and Pip ARE cute names! And lucky you! My man would NEVER buy me a pet! He's not an animal person

I don't think they have/had Neighbours in the US.

There are web site you can look up Aboriginal words. Look up frog and use that name.

Congrats! I hope you can find your camera soon so we can eagerly look at pictures of the new additions. As for names, I have bookmarked several baby name sites-mostly African, Gaelic and Japanese-to name my amphibians and lizards. Unfortunately, for the African and Japanese, I am never sure if I am pronouncing them right!! Whatever you choose, I am sure it will be just right! I always try to involve my wife and daughter in the naming process, but in the end I have the final say!
