The only clawed frog I know of that has stripes is Xenopus gilli (Cape Platanna). It is endangered and only found in a small area in the Western Cape (Cape Town/Cape of Good Hope) province of South Africa. It is likely it is a Cape Platanna, but not positive. They prefer a "blackwater" (high acidic) environment with a pH 4-6. These frogs are on the edge. The alteration of their native habit by increasing the pH of the water has allowed the more aggressive X. laevis to interbreed with the Cape Platanna. leading to a quick extinction. Fortunately, steps are being made to repair the damage done. If you can get a close up photo of the head and legs, it might help.

The nice thing about these frogs is that you can put as many as you like together, and they don't get big. Yours is full grown!!. They come from Asia where they live in the rice fields.lol You can put them with the dwarf ACF. They will eat guppies, bloodworms, blackworms, tubefex worms, yummy. Thats a nice all around uncommon frog. Whats his name?![]()
