Default Horn Worms sparked a craving for variety.

Ever since Grif has recovered and I ve been giving him Horn Worms he's been craving more variety in his diet. He now readily eats night crawlers now which he wouldn't touch before. The bad thing is that he just about completely ignores crickets. Which may prove expensive, but atleast he is eating a variety that he needs. Maybe I should try Dubia cockroaches too.

Sounds like a kick starting worm. They are pricey, but if they bring your pet back, its priceless.

Agreed. They must have something in them that the Pacs need. Maybe some sort of high value vitamin combination. Or maybe they trigger the Pacs dopamine like nicely colored Ornate Pacs do for you BG LOL!

Well they're pretty much like a creme-filled doughnut, so of course he's ignoring his vegies (crickets) :P I don't blame him at all.

It could also be something about the soft squishy exoskeleton vs hard crunchy exoskeleton.

    You can breed hornworms.

So Grif has pretty much become a hornworm addict! He is eating other things too (Which I am SO happy about!) but hornworms are by far his favorite snack. Last night I made the mistake of leaving the container of hornworms next to his terrarium. When I got up this morning, he was right by the glass staring directly at the hornworms and obviously trying to figure out how to get them. (Luckily he didn't try to bang against the glass.) He barely spared me a glance before he went back to ogling the hornworms. I swear, if frogs could drool he would have been sitting in a puddle! ;-) When I moved the container out of his line of site, Grif was outraged! He hunched his shoulders and puffed up a little. Then he hopped around his cage for a while just like a kid throwing a tantrum. I think he was still sulking when he finally went to his hole and burrowed down for the day. I couldn't help but laugh. He's such a spoiled frog!
