Can gray tree froglets eat mini mealworms right after losing their tails?
No, you're basically looking at pinhead crickets or flightless fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster).

John, is there a particular reason why they can't eat tiny mealworms or is it just they would make a poor dietary staple?
I offered them the mini mealworms because my fruit fly cultures are arriving tonight (when the hubby gets home) and I've been worried about them starving. The first two froglets lost their tails over labor day weekend and the second two lost their tails Tuesday and Wednesday. Tried catching my own fruit flies in my house, but don't have a problem (not a bad thing for me, just for the frogs!).
I'm really hoping that they eat the fruit flies tonight so I can stop worrying about them....
