Default HELP! Fruit flies swarming my froglets

First time trying to feed fruit flies to the froglets...I didn't see that I was putting so many in there...seriously, like over 100 for 3 froglets. Well, only 1 froglet has a clue and I've seen him eat 3 flies. The other 2 have not caught on yet and the fruit flies are crawling all over them.

Are my frogs okay? I've read that fruit flies don't bite...but I did put so many in there with them, now I wonder what to do next.

    HELP!!!

They wont bite, but they will stress the froglets out. Try t remove some. One thing I do with my dart frogs is to put a small piece of banana in the enclosure to get the flies to gather in one spot. The frogs eventually recognize this area as their feeding spot and it helps keep excess flies from crawling all over the frogs.

Yeah it's easy to knock too many in there. You'll get the hang of it.

I ended up removing the frogs and dumping the fruit flies and a piece of banana into a cup with lid (from Josh's Frogs). I know that one of them ate several (about 5) and was pretty happy, but the other two did seem kind of stressed, so I think I will just wait again until tomorrow. Will gray tree frogs eat in the morning? or will they only eat at night?

Most dart keepers have a piece of glass covering the entire top of the tank. Some use screening to allow for some ventilation. Still, all have escapee flies...

Don't worry, lol, I did the exactly the same thing. In fact, I accidentally did it again yesterday. What's really odd is that they'll have their eye on one fly while a couple more flies are perched right on them.

Lilke JWells said, mostly at night, but when they're young like this you want to make sure there's always a snack available. My little guys will usually pop out a couple times during the day for a pick me up. Good idea to dust them every other feeding or so. That also has the added bonus of making it harder for them to escape before they get in the viv
How do you keep them in the viv with out escaping?
Noseeum mesh, tight fitting lids, and silicone around the doors, if you have them. And yep, there's still escapees. The first time I tried to culture them, I think more ended up in the house than the culture cup.
