Octavian ate a Meal Worm on Sunday, after 3 weeks of not eating he hopped over and ate a Meal Worm on his own which nearly made me jump up and down in joy. Today I gave him a Meal Worm and he hopped over to it, snapped at it. He didn't eat it but he did snap at it, I figure that the worm wasn't on his tongue right as when he got it the worm did wiggle a lot. I've removed all Crickets from his cage, I've discovered that they have been going from prey to predator on my frog :-(. I've applied small dabs of Neosporin on the wound on his shoulder (the first time it looked like a pimple about to pop then it got better and I threw in a cricket before I threw in the Meal Worm, he seemed interested. Overnight that cricket turned on my frog and opened the healed wound more so I took it out and applied more Neosporin).
I need to get some Earth Worms for him, he might be more enthusiastic when he sees one wriggling around as they move more than a Mealie.
Congrats! I hope he recovers fully. Grif snapped at the crickets I gave him last night and chased them alittle, but then he felt the erge to shed and after he shed I don't believe he went after them anymore. He may have been tired from shedding.
I haven't seen Octavian shed in a while, the first month I had him he shed a lot. He only shed maybe twice in August
Octavian shed a few days ago, very shiny and acted like he was shedding with the mouth opening and all. He still hops around, still won't eat though. It's been a week since he ate that 1 Meal Worm. Planning on getting some cage covering for the back and sides of his cage, maybe that's the problem, he's being stressed out??
When they get stressed live them be,and come back later. How long did you live the criket in his tank.
There's 2 in there that have been in there for 3 or 4 days now. There was 4 but 2 died
