Default can i keep dart frogs in this???

Hi i just purchased the Exo-Terra rainforest kit 18*18*24 medium size. Is this enough space for a group of about 4 tree frogs. Im wondering because im not sure on the climbing behavior or roaming behavior of dart frog species

    Thanks!

You can pretty much put any pair of dart frogs in there. If you get terrestrial darts you would want to use tiers, levels or slopes to help them utilize the upper sections. You could get a group of thumbnails that would love the extra height. If you think about it a standard 20 gallon has 300 square inches of floor space. The 18X18 foot print of the Exo is 324 square inches of floor space. People are comfortable putting a pair of most terrestrial darts into a standard 20 so why not a tall Exo Terra. I set up a 18X18X24 tank for a pair of Matecho. They are terrestrial so I made a slope like a hillside with flat spots in different sections. They use the entire tank including the ledges I have along the back wall. The most important thing is to design the layout of the tank that suits the frogs you want to put in there. And yes it would be perfectly fine for tree frogs as well. If you have any questions on the specific needs of a particular frog or need help with tank designs just ask. That's what we're here for.

thank you ! im new to keeping amphibians but ive been keeping fish in nature stlye aquariums for awhile. I thought this was a great way to bring a bit of nature indoors! Im wondering if dart frogs are good for a beginner. Or better yet some small type tree frogs or cool dart frogs that arent exspensive and where to get them

    THANKS!

Your typical beginner type frogs whether its tree frogs or dart frogs cost anywhere from $30-$50. Of course depending on what species you get. It sounds like this is a display tank so I would suggest dart frogs because they would be awake in the daytime. Although there does tend to be some condensation on the glass as they require higher humidity levels. For darts I would recommend Azureus or Leucomelas. For tree frogs I would recommend the Red Eye Leaf frogs. All of these are bold and active. Although as I said the Red Eyes will only be awake when its pitch black. The Red Eyes are not too big so they wont trash the plants as they move around. With the Azureus they are bright blue, very active but can only be kept in male- female pairs as they are territorial. The Leucs can be kept in small groups and as youngsters would make great use of your tall tank. Joshs Frogs has all the frogs mentioned at great prices and he also carries all the supplies that you might need to get you started. Just tell him theses are your first frogs and he'll get you all setup with everything you will need to properly care for your frog. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I think it is to bad it is only 40cm long.
Frogs do like to have some space in length as well.
For tree frogs, in my opinion this size is to limited.
Maybe you can use it for a couple of small reedfrogs or something.
Otherwise you can consider putting in one couple of Ranitomeya .
Put in some nice climbing branches, some live plants, bromeliads and leaflitter on the bottom and you will be fine.
R.ventrimaculata would be a great frog to start with in this terrarium.
However, before decorating, descide about the species you like to put in,
this way you can optimize the decoration you put in.
