I'm new to frogs, I had a pacman for about a year, but it got impacted and it didn't end well. I currently have and breed geckos. I was at my LPS, and they have a white's and I think it's is so cute. I've been doing research, but the info on the net can be so contridicting. What size of tank does a white's need? Will a 12x12x18 exoterra work? Do they need heating? My reptile room is keep at a temp of 76-80. Will that be okay? How bout humidity? When I mist my geckos, once a day it goes from 90% after misting to 50% in the afternoon. Or will it need a mister?
White's really are hard to resist, huh? They are adorable frogs with very charming personalities, and are fairly easy to care for.
They grow to be very large frogs. The average size for a White's is about 4 inches. Females are usually larger than males. One White's needs at least a 20 gallon. So a 12x12x18 is a little small. You could keep your white's in that while it is young, but as it grows you will most likely need to upgrade to a bigger one. As for the heat, the temps of your reptile room sound good, maybe even a little too warm. White's need a temp between 70-80 but they need it to reach cooler temps at night. High 60's to low 70's is usually an okay night temp. Your humidity sounds okay. Typically, you want to keep the humidity between 50 and 60 percent, making sure you always have a clean dish of water for them to soak in. It doesn't sound like you'll need a mister.![]()
