Default Starting the Viv - Thoughts so far on substrate?

Hi all, first time doing a viv. Raising gray tree froglets (with the emphasis on brand spanking new!) and I'm using coconut fiber as the substrate. I soaked the brick in water for 30 minutes and wrung it out before putting it in the tank.

What do you think? Should it be loose or packed down? Do I have enough? I've got other parts to go, but want to make sure the substrate is correct before proceeding. Thanks!

I usually pack it down. Considering this terrarium is for growing young froglets, I wouldn't worry too much about the quantity - you will likely have to change it regularly anyhow.

thanks John. Oh, and you (and anyone else) please re-state that once the tadpoles get all four legs, they stop eating. I've read the care guide so many times, I'm not sure what I'm reading anymore and my husband feels like I'm starving them. Thanks!

MORE PICTURES! I've completed most of the set-up...I still have to attach the ledge and work on arranging that darn pothos - it looked much better outside of the tank than it does inside (and re-potted). Again, this tank is going to be the temporary home of 6 gray tree froglets (once they have all completed morphing).

When do I transfer them to their new home? 2 of my 6 tadpoles now have 4 legs, but they seem to prefer to swim than go to land.

In my 10 gallon viv - water bowl (is it too small?), hide, mopani driftwood from Petco, aquarium rocks, frog moss, pothos plant and small bowl for either more water or fruit flies/crickets. Substrate is coconut fibre.

    Thoughts?

Need some advice please! Is my vivarium appropriate for brand new froglets? Are they okay with frog moss and aquarium rocks? Thanks!

It looks good to me. I like to drop some slightly larger than pea gravel size rocks in the water to give them some landing areas and to give them a choice as to how deep in the water they want to be. I have three boreal chorus froglets in a similar setup.

As for when to swap them over, I decreased the water level in the tad tank so there was no risk of drowning but didn't swap anyone over until they started losing their tails (and climbing the walls).
