    Default Wild Bufo bufo Pics

    Hello!

I had this handsome guy hoppin' around in my backyard and decided to borrow him for some pics. I gave him some food for the trouble wich he gladly accepted.
To bad we're not allowed to collect and keep wild herps in Sweden even if I get why laws like that exist. Got me thinking about getting pet toad though and there's a few interesting species to choose from.

Anyway, here's some of the pics.

Beautiful pictures! I really started to like the bufo bufo since I found dozens of them on my latest vacation.

You probably know this already, but you can keep bufo bufo in captivity as long as it's captive bred. This is true for all species on Jordbruksverkets B-lista.

    Thanks guys!

And yes, he ate the worms. Toads looks so funny when they stalk their prey. Slowly moving closer, tilting their head from side to side before deciding if it's eatable, then BAM tongue-attack!

Yeah I guess, but who raises bufo bufos? I think I would get one if they were available actually.

If it ate the worm then you can acclimate him/her i suppose.

Now that's a trickier question... My best guess would be the Hamm Expo in Germany now the 10th of September. Not much you can't get there. I'm going to try and find an anguis fragilis breeder there as well.

Don't sure what you mean, but I think you're talking about keeping the frog. Like Raya said, it is illegal (and very unmoral, if you ask me) to keep any wild caught reptile or amphibian that is native to Sweden.

You're going to Hamm? That's cool! I would really like to go there some time but it's so far away. I see you're from Umeå, that's a pretty long trip too

But I don't think I would get Bufo Bufos if I got to Hamm. There's so many other beautiful toad species.
Bufo Debilis, Alvarius, Guttatus, Melanostictus to name a few. I would loose so much money if I ever got there

Actually, I'm not going personally, but a friend of my from Umeå are going and getting some stuff on my behalf. I planned on going there, but I got a job, so... Yeah, that had to wait. I'm definitely going next year though! But yeah, like you say, it's quite a bit... You have shorter to Hamm than I have to Värmland, haha! But it's a small price to pay when you're living in the awesomest city in the country!
