Default new guy from Auburn, AL

name is chris. I live in Auburn, AL (while the university is in session) and Fort Myers, FL when school is out. college student in zoology.

currently own 1 dog. 1 pygmy field mouse, 2 black spinytail iguanas, 1 nicaraguan clubtail ig, 1 rhino ig, some bugs, 5 basilisk eggs, a pair of male/female kenyan sand boas and ONLY ONE amphibian...a bumble bee toad that I traded some lizards for yesterday. I ordered a second toad to go in the little terrarium with it.

I am not an amphibian guy overall. The only amphibian I have ever BOUGHT was a dumpy treefrog about a decade ago. however, I have caught and cared for HUNDREDS of frogs, salamanders, and toads which I find on my field herping trips nearly on a daily basis. raised everything from little green house frogs up to Cane toads I catch back home. I have also caught, owned, and bred hundreds of various snakes and lizards.

I really want some dietary tips for my bumblebee. I plan on offering crickets and drosiphila, if anyone knows of a more successfully eaten cultured food please let me know

I'm hear to learn more about the bumble bee toad. not looking to breed or really get into frogs in general, but every once in a while I need to take a break from all my scaly pets and take care of something soft bodied

Welcome to the forum Chris. I know of at least one person feeding these toads exclusively on Drosophila hydei (the large fruit fly used by dart froggers). Small crickets work too but most people try to avoid crickets if they can because of the smell.

considering I get over 2000 crickets a week for my spinytail iguanas, the smell isn't really a problem haha. (i keep the crickets outside)
