Good evening fellow herp lovers!

My name is Christian. As the name says, I love to photograph... I am a complete amateur but have a sincere passion for photographing wildlife (mostly herps/insects/arachnids).

Other than keeping a few toads, I enjoy driving as far from home as I can afford to photograph herps that I don't get to see in this area. I have recently discovered Arizona herps... Fascinating!

My favorite toads are in this order (all are pretty much found within 300 miles of where I am at):

1. Couch's Spadefoot Toad
2. Sonoran Green Toad (I hope these are available in the trade someday)
3. Great Plains Toad
4. Western Spadefoot
5. Sonoran Desert Toad (I hope California will someday pull it's head out of it's 4th point of contact and make these legal pets)

If anyone in SoCal wants to go out herping, I am pretty much up for it any time! I know some great spots to see some really cool herps!

Hi Christian, welcome to the forum!

We do love pictures here and I look forward to seeing more of yours. My own selfish request though is that when possible you include the species name in the descriptions in your albums (like you've done with the ones you attached here). Some of us are species ID challenged, especially when it comes to the wide variety of toads you're lucky to have in your area.

Don't be shy about posting insect and arachnid photos either, there's some bug lovers here too!

Welcome to the forum, Sounds like fun to be out there with all those frogs and what else is out there. If i was out west i would love to herp with ya. But for now you just gotta keep those great pics coming in for us to see. lol. Its very nice of you. BTW I love arachnids too, keep em coming lol.

I've been going to a local road where I spotted an albino southern pacific rattlesnake (crotalus helleri) back in 2007... Like a fool, I took photos and let it slither off... I'm hoping to find another... Now that all the babies are being born, I'm hoping that someday I will encounter another.

Ooh! Nice. I don't know much about snakes. We had some orangish-red and black striped snake in our neighbors yard once down south. I don't know what type it was but it was very long. The game warden came and moved it back into the wild away from the military base.
