I have a question about the water source for Pacman frogs. Ok so we know that you aren't supposed to use distilled water for your frogs soaking but it is ok to mist with. Now when your frog is buried he will obsorb water from the soil through his/her skin as the do while soaking. My question is why is it unsafe to use distilled water for them to soak in and obsorb when the distilled water you are misting with is being obsorbed through by the frog in the substrate? Does it instantly gain salts and minerals neede for a healthy water source for you frog when combined with the substrate or is this something to consider for everyone who uses distilled water to mist with? Its still distilled water that they obsorb from the substrate. Is it possibly still bad for the frog?
This is interesting as I just began using distilled water for misting. I don't have any credible explanation but I'd be happy to hear what others have to say. I don't think you should spray the frog directly but some of the mist tends to get on him.
The coco fiber that i used recently was moistened with rain water.
I have always use dechlorinated tap waters.
