Default Toad keepers' ahoy! Need ideas!

Hey fellow toad keepers out there!

Could you post photos of your Terrariums for your toads, I need some ideas!

    Here's mine: Name: 004.jpg

    Any suggestions or improvements?

    Thanks!

    ~Royce

P.S. It had a lot more plant life but the toad dug it all up, the large marsh-land grass plant is the only thing it wasn't able to dig up!

It helps for suggestions . You can put your plants in small pots and bury the pots.

Looks like a nice setup Royce. I second the plant in pot, then pot into terrarium.

Oh, and as for the pots, that would work great, but the plants wouldn't get much larger, plus I limited for space, the tank is a 10 gallon.

Gail; Wow!! That tank is amazing! How did you get all that moss to grow!? I took a patch os moss form my backyard, and it was growong great in the tank, that is until the toad figured out it was a great spot to dig... now it's turning brown in some spots...

With a tank like that, you must never change your substrate, I thought you had to?

Lecibeth; Thankyou. Wish I had a bigger tank though, the pot technique would work great then...

I know a 10 gallon is supposedly large enough for one toad, but would you guys recomend a larger tank?

    Thanks,

    ~Royce

I've let the moss take hold before putting the toads in, plus they have plenty of places to hide so they haven't dug in any spots.... yet. I've only had them for a few months and they use the water dish for the toilet most of the time, which I change 3 times a day. I've layered rocks, organic soil, coco fiber then the moss. Nothing is molding or smelling funky and there are lots of new plants sprouting in the tank. It also has great ventilation so at this point I'll leave it alone. I also got the tank from Petco on sale for $40.00, I couldn't refuse.

Sure do, I have 2 Fowlers and 2 Southern. kueluck's Album: Knot of toads Here's the link to their album. I've raised several toadlets and then released them once they got a little bigger to give them a better survival chance.

That set up is just for babies, the adult will dig EVERYTHING up.
