    Re: odd toad behaviour

She may have sprained or fractured the limb - time and TLC should handle it, but if it worsens it’s always a good idea to see a vet. Are you able to post/link a YT video of the nodding?

The larger one is definitely a male - he has a blue ďbeardĒ, squeaks occasionally and has nuptial pads. Small toadís appetite, activity, and defecation are normal and no signs of MBD. Maybe heís just...

I have two gulf coast toads that are within a few months of age. One is over two inches and healthy, but the other just got to one inch. Am I misidentifying the small one? Small toad was born with...

    Re: Lighting questions

Michel’s symptoms were weakness especially in his back legs, rubbery bones, reduced appetite, and jaw hanging open. My light is working well and it doesn’t throw heat so I definitely suggest it. Yes,...

Re: Gray tree frog not eating...

Since he’s only been in the new setup for about a week, I’d give him a little more time to acclimate. Moving him back at this point may stress him out.

I’m so sorry. thats a scary situation. Yes half burying is a good idea. Warm baths may help with temp if nothing else. Pedialyte is good to add. Force/syringe feeding is alright if necessary and in...

  18. Re: Has anyone stopped feeding their pacman insects

I don’t think it would be a good idea to stop feeding them insects. Why do you ask? Are you planning on that? What is your alternative?

Re: HELP IS TOAD SICK? Photos included

  20. Re: Quick Clarifications? (Signs of illness? Is UV lighting needed?)

I’m not absolutely certain about the UV debate, but if possible I would add a UV light just to be safe. The sluggishness and reduced appetite may be due to early MBD.

Re: HELP IS TOAD SICK? Photos included

Sounds like she’s got some sort of intestinal problem, and since prey animals don’t show symptoms unless they’re very sick I’d take her to the vet.

  25. Re: Sick and swollen Oriental fire bellied toad

No idea what is going on but my recommendation is taking them to a vet immediately. That sounds miserable :( Especially since you have always taken good care of them.
