Re: My FBT has a deformed leg/foot

Do you only have males? When I add a male to my group, I send all males on a bonding retreat in another tank. This allows them to sort out their pecking order without being distracted by the femmes....

Re: Cricket by Mail Subscription Service?

I don't use a subscription service because my critters (frogs, chameleon, & leopard gecko) don't always eat the same amount at each feeding and I like to vary their diet (crickets, silkworms,...

  9. Re: FRUIT FLIES EXPLOSION - Anyone in NC need any?

I use Josh's Frogs medium and cups and just follow their instructions. For Hydei, I add a little more water so it's like real soft mashed potatoes cuz the media can dry out by the time the flies get...
  10. Re: FRUIT FLIES EXPLOSION - Anyone in NC need any?

Haha! No. I'm good on frogs. :-)
  11. Re: FRUIT FLIES EXPLOSION - Anyone in NC need any?

I gave another 6 cultures to the Greensboro Nature Center for their dart frogs. I'm down to 2 new cultures and 1 producing. Just enough for my new mantids and snacks for the frogs and Camo. I might...

    Re: Culturing Nightcrawlers?

Red Wigglers may be rejected due to their self-defense mechanism that produces an offending taste. That's why I switched my bin from red wigglers to european nightcrawlers.

  18. My quest to improve Fire Belly Frogs habitats at Petco & Pet Supplies Plus (Greensboro, NC)

Last month I bought 2 frogs from a lady on Craigslist. Her setup was so dry and hot that I was surprised that the frogs weren't cooked to a crisp. She told me that she was replicating the setup at...

    Re: Culturing Nightcrawlers?

European nightcrawlers are about half the size of Canadian. Euros are the larger cousins of the red wiggler so they are composting worms. Canadians are burrowers and don't do well in worm bins...

    Re: Culturing Nightcrawlers?

I don't use anything but newspaper in my bin. The only reason to add dirt from your yard is for the decomposition organisms. Keep the top layer of newspaper dry. Nightcrawlers crawl through moisture...

    Re: Dusting with pollen

But you can powder the bee pollen granules. The nutritional value of bee pollen seems to largely outweigh the commercial supplements and it's a natural product. Just wondering.
  23. Re: FRUIT FLIES EXPLOSION - Anyone in NC need any?

I gave like 8 cultures to Carolina Dart Frogs about a week ago. I keep texting him if he wants more, but he hasn't replied. I'll see if I can track down the breeder in K'ville. Thanks!
