  2. Re: Need to get NM spadefoot to stop croaking, please help

Oh man, I would be so excited if I ever got eggs! The toads have no problem "having fun" with one another, but they never seem interested in laying eggs. :/
  3. Re: Need to get NM spadefoot to stop croaking, please help

I was worried I may have to take him to a vet...but luckily it seems he finally learned his lesson and stopped calling on his own. I've been keeping his cage near me all day (yay unemployment) so I...
  4. Need to get NM spadefoot to stop croaking, please help

My little Herbert is injured, and needs some help.

He is quite frisky, which got him into this mess. He was "going after" Witwoo, one of my female Plains spadefoots. Usually when this happens, I...

    Re: Keeping Different Species Together

I doubt it would be a big deal looking into the frogs themselves. I have kept similar frogs together before that weren't the same species. For instance, I have two colonies of spea multiplicata and...

    Re: New Mexican Spadefoot Toad

Hello, my name is Lindsay and I am addicted to spadefoot toads.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way...

When I go to feed my spadefoots, I always dig them up. I figure it's only fair,...

  8. Re: Cyst on Plains Spadefoot...please help

He's acting perfectly normal, which is almost more baffling. He seems to really enjoy being in the water. I check on him every so often...I just don't want to stress him out. I'll try giving him some...
  9. Re: Cyst on Plains Spadefoot...please help

I can't do anything until Monday because everything is closed (seriously--how can some vets treat reptiles and not amphibians?). Do you think I should try to feed him in the meantime? Anything I can...
  10. Cyst on Plains Spadefoot...please help

    Hello,

I just got my new spadefoots, and one of them has this weird discolored bump on his back. I have ordered from this company multiple times and every time I've been rewarded with healthy,...

    Re: Pinchy the Crawfish

Pinchy is a girl! I am so pleased to hear this! I read somewhere that females live longer than males. I will do the best I can to give her a good home.

    Pinchy the Crawfish

This is Pinchy. He is a crawfish (although I have no idea what kind of breed he is). I got him at the local bait store as food for the Pig Frogs, but he managed to not get consumed. As he got larger...

Re: Buyer Beware of Mike's Phat Frogs

I don't know. Honestly, if the toad dies within 24 hours that seems suspicious to me. I'm surprised he wouldn't offer to refund you the money or send another toad. That's what I would have done. Kind...

    Re: Bufo cohabitation

My rule of thumb is that if they're found in the same habitat and can hybridize, it should be fine. The biggest concern at that point would just be that one toad isn't too much bigger than another....

    Re: Save the Frogs.

Maybe it's because they're so anti-pet? Kerry is very adamant about ending the pet trade--even with captive bred animals.

Thanks for the great input! We got the frogs finally about three weeks ago, and they're quite amusing to watch.

The tank is probably about 3/4 water (I am honestly just guessing). I got some great...

  25. Re: Got to love spring. Eastern Spadefoot Toad call.

Sounds like my living room on any given night ;D

But in all seriousness, what a fun video! I'd give anything to see spadefoots in the wild.
