    I changed the water yesterday and I can clearly see the skin on the stump has pulled off, so it's exposing muscle and bone.
    To my shock he was trying to get away from me, I took that as a good sign...

    That's fantastic news:)
    Are you near any water?
    You'll typically see lots of juvenile frogs close to ponds, swamps, streams, any fresh water where there aren't any fish.
    I'm in PA too in a lake...

    Do you have any water in the tank?
    Put a bowl big enough so it can submerge it's body to soak. All frogs need water to keep their skin moist and permeable.

    Where are you located?
    It's really difficult to id tads, trust me I've tried for years and I've been wrong more than right, but narrowing down where you are and what species are in your area helps.

    Btw youve got an american toad Buford Americans aka common toad and probably is full size and a lil chubby, so looks good and healthy:)
