Re: Tips for feeding frozen pinkys

Try to feed him in a feeding box. First with live food, like crickets or runners or newly moulted superworms (they have to be fully white). When he gets used to it, try a dead pinky, the way I...
  2. How do I see if I have a male or female edulis?

There is so much info about sexing the large pixies, but I have trouble finding info on the smaller edulis.

At what size is it possible to tell gender? I know a lot of people talk about age, but...

Re: Tips for feeding frozen pinkys

Do you feed him in his enclosure or a feeding box? I managed to get my little pixie to eat slivers of beef by having a few runners running around in the feeding box.

    Re: Help!

I'm not sure if it's normal, but here are a few things you can try.

Keep them appart but let them see each other.
Put some live food in a seperate container and gently transfer them both to this...

Re: False tomatofrog at end of life

Maybe I was wrong! Fingers crossed!
After extra misting and spraying, she eventually jumped up on her perch again, and last night she had a pinkie mouse! Just one, but I'm so happy!
    Maybe this...

False tomatofrog at end of life

Mme Red, my false tomato frog, is refusing food and is sitting in her water dish or on the ground. I think it is time for her to join her late husband in froggy heaven, but I can't bring myself to do...

Re: A very worried frog mum!!

I understand your need for checking him, but as long as he is sitting and has clear eyes, he will be OK. There isn't much you can do if he isn't OK and then dies, I'm sorry to say. Follow the advice...
  9. Re: Any frogs that don't need to eat crickets?

Keep your frog but switch to dubias instead and maybe some woodlice.

    Re: Adding moss from backyard

It depends on your backyard. Are there pestisides used? If not, then rins it, then put it in the freezer for a couple of days to kill off any creepy crawlies. I have never had any problem withg...

Re: Help! Toad with mouth open

Can you give them a bath? Place them in containers with water and see what happens.

    Re: What spider is this??

It's kind of hard to see... maybe a wolfspider of some sort. Why is it so important? Did it bite you?

Re: UPDATE on Packie the pacman frog!

    That is wonderful news!
  14. Re: Badly wounded frog - What can I do to help him? (Picture attached)

That leg looks like it's almost chewed off! Amputation might be the only answer, but a vet should do it.

    Re: Custom PVC Enclosure

I would go with polycarbonate sheets instead. The link you provided made me click on their polycarbonate menu as well, and they even have the multiwall kind... low weight but very sturdy.

    Re: Odd skin on frog?

    Thanks for the reply, but....
I have had Kaloulas for years, some made it, others didn't, and I've looked over a few potential new purchases, and none has ever had the sticky skin the frog in...

    Odd skin on frog?

I have kept a few frogs over the years, so I know that what I'm seeing and feeling isn't normal... or at least doesn't seem normal to me.

One of my frogs have a sticky skin, rather than wet...
  18. Re: Update on my edulis - looking good so far

    Another update.
I gave her a bunch of runners and she went bonkers trying to catch them. Finally I had to add some water in her feeding container so she could catch them. After feeding, she had her...

    Re: To many crickets HELP

Put in food for the crickets and let them be. The frogs will eat them eventually and as long as the crickets have something to eat, they will be fine.

    Re: Centipede

Was it kind of brown, flat and shiny? Then it might be the same kind we have wild here in Sweden. As far as I can tell, they are harmless but will help clean up dead uneaten bugs.

  22. Update on my edulis - looking good so far

Tinkerbell, my little edulis with the weak and misshapen lower jaw is making progress!
"She" is growing with no signs of MDB, so there isn't a lot of stress for her, being handled and so forth. A...
  23. Re: Please help... White's TF hurting herself.

My false tomato frog female used to jump at the ceiling and the sides a lot. She has calmed down now, but she looked a bit worn.

The only thing I can think of is covering the inside with something...
  24. Re: Two living together happily, Fobisher Family

I would second the dubias. Fully grown dubias are large. Make sure they eat them straigt away because dubias bury in the subsrate. Nightcrawlers are earthworms, right? They are hard to eat because...
